Vemco Group to the rescue
This incident happened in the township of Trentham. A 30 m pine tree split and fell over a stay wire and pined it to the ground. This caused the high voltage pole that the stay wire was connected to, to snap at the ground
and fall in to the section of the pine tree that was still standing.
Powercor had to disconnect the stay wire from under the pine tree and then remove the high voltage wires off the poles so that the Vemco Group crews could cut the rest of the tree that still had the potential to fall on the powerlines.
The powerlines then had to be rebuilt and power restored.
