In the past few months AVS and IAMSL, in New Zealand, have been re-mining the NDE Project data collected in the late 1990's. In this study poles were inspected, tested to their destruction point and cut into cross sections for analysis. In this new project we have found very good, well defined, correlations between TMXScan plots and section cross-cuts for the residual area. We have also developed a very reliable method of taking a scan based on the +150 mm cross-cut and projecting down 300 mm to the -150 crosscut. These results are to be analysed and endorsed by Keith Crews (Associate Professor - Sydney University of Technology). This will allow us to gain third party professional endorsement of the system and erase any residual industry scepticism about the system determining below ground line degradation.
